Frequently asked questions
Everything about setup, connections, formats, privacy and Pro.
Which TVs does BeamTV support?
Samsung Tizen (.wgt), Android / Google TV (.apk) and Amazon Fire TV (.apk).
Do my phone and TV need the same Wi-Fi?
Yes — BeamTV connects to your TV's local SDB (26101) or ADB (5555) port, so both devices must be on the same subnet.
How do I enable Developer Mode on Samsung?
Open Apps → press 1-2-3-4-5 → Developer Mode ON → enter your phone's LAN IP (shown in the app) as Host PC IP → hold the TV power button 5s to restart.
How do I enable it on Android / Fire TV?
Android/Google TV: tap Build 7×, then enable Network Debugging. Fire TV: tap the device name 7×, then enable ADB Debugging + Apps from Unknown Sources. Full steps are in the app's TV Guide.
Why won't my TV connect?
Most common causes: Developer Mode is off, the phone IP isn't registered (Samsung), devices are on different bands with client isolation, or a firewall blocks the port. The in-app guide walks through each.
Which file formats can I install?
.wgt for Samsung, .apk for Android TV / Fire TV. Pick the matching platform chip before deploying.
Is sideloading legal and safe?
Yes — it's a manufacturer-supported feature. Only install packages from sources you trust; BeamTV never modifies the files.
Does BeamTV upload my files to the cloud?
No. Transfers go directly from your phone to your TV over local Wi-Fi. See the
Privacy Policy.
What does BeamTV Pro include?
A completely ad-free experience for a one-time $4.99 — no subscription. Restore it any time on the same store account.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Open the Pro sheet → Restore Previous Purchase with the same store account you bought with.
How do I delete my data?
